The card is dirt cheap and well supported by the proprietary NVIDIA drivers. Also, I don't have any PCIe slots on my motherboard, so I oretty much must go with an AGP because I heard PCI is to so slow. Find out who represents you in Wyoming's legislature. YOu might want to check on that. If it improves performance than a cheap pci audio card would do the trick.
Hmmm....I'm not quite sure what gave you the idea that they will have 'memory related problems'. As for cards, its pretty hard to find good AGP cards now (like jlinkels said). It is really hard to find a AGP card that works good with Linux and without the risk that in next OpenSuse release it will still work correctly. Actually you did .
