The computer seems to be running fine. Thanks in advance for any helpful replies.P.S. This includes Antivirus, Firewall, and any Spyware scanners that run in the background. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run.

Boot seemed to run at normal speed -- maybe a tad slow, but nothing like the half hour or hour it was taking before. So hopefully the great minds here can help me out.
