So if you drop in two graphics cards to run in dual GPU mode, each card will have just eight lanes available to it. I can't find anything for a Lenovo 10818.If you post a pic of your motherboard we could tell you by looking at it... So maybe they had enough features for 24 PCIe lanes, but that does not increase how many lanes the CPU has, so 8 lanes are used by multiple features.
