It was simply the wrong driver. Now driver a bit uncertain, as CD have: NForce Platform Drivers & Utilities and some old Adobe, PC alert, PC cilin Usefu website on it.... This confusing (to me) setup is because Realtek is configured for surround sound but getting the information seems difficult if you don't use and so are not used to surround sound.
