Norton Problems Today
My company now detects that my AV program does not meet their criteria (it worked 2 days ago). This was a considerable inconvienience since he uses his computer for school research as well as his own entertainment. Norton Problems Today
I discussed the problem with two computer nerds and both agree: Take Norton Off My Computer. I was auto charged again in May and I saw a charge on my statement again today (June 23). Of course in the real world, some malware authors can and do iterate on their new malware until they're sure the major AV products won't detect it.So for the sake of The report doesn't say how they acquire their malware samples, but I guess they get them from the same sources AV vendors do. They claimed they were aware of this but at the time didn't mention Cybersitter. But my issue is that a hidden Auto Renewal function is now using my supposedly secure credit card details to renew my subscription without my knowledge or permission. Rebooting doesn't work. Thought great, another failed install.
Not quite AV, but something better, imo, as it doesn't use signatures, but looks for aberrant behaviour; e.g your email should not be trying to access your customer database. Now, I have to prove to my card company that I did not authorize this renewal. unplugged it again and moved the memory to the other slot and somehow that seemed to make the computer come back n with fan spinning normally but nothing else responds. I do have certain unknown/private numbers that are legitimate calls that I need to take, so this is absolutely harassment.
And, if the user chose to disable CYBERsitter, Internet access would be lost. What a mess! The was a "detail" link from that message - but all it showed was a very generic error which was not helpful at all.
Sometimes, your company may need to get that updated VPN version so that it can detected the latest Norton. My computer kept saying that auto protect had detected bloodhound.
