Click (+) next to Software. Every time I calmly tell them about the issue, they hang up as fast as they can. On the 5th day, I was working at the desk top & thankfully received Cybersitter's e-mail with the fix instructions. I was receiving a message that some Bloodhound agent was tracking.. http://blightysoftware.com/solved-norton/solved-norton-security-suite-vs-live-onecare.html
Iola came back as a reallly light icon in my program files but not in control panel AVG 2013 is in both places . I finally resolved the issue using these steps (reboot AFTER EACH STEP): 1) Uninstall all Symantec programs using Add/Remove Programs 2) Run the NIS removal tool (symnrt.exe - available at Symantec There is no way I can justify the hours and hours spent trying to make this POC work. This was basically the straw that broke the camel's back with Symantec and Cybersitter. https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-norton-internet-security-2005-trying-to-run-live-update.450102/
I tried to get on the internet, to find out about it, but was cut off from the internet. I popped in the NIS 2007 CD into the drive and started installation. This is the path I have for LiveUpdate if you are looking for it on your system: C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\LUALL.EXE (default path Norton installs to).
I was on hold for about 45 minutes before I got to talk to somebody. No connection to internet on two machines with Norton reporting a bloodhound virus found and then resolved every two minutes ! John W. I know that the whole MSU campus is running it and I always wondered if there is some reason for it or was it just a choice someone made at some
I am looking bfor some compensation for the norton antivirus program I had to uninstall because of what it was doing to my PC and I haven't heard back from 2 Norton anti-virus said it had detected an unknown bloodhound virus but the Norton anti-virus program did not know what to do with it. You really have no choice, unless you prefer to format. 6. A waste of about 15 hours of my (and various "IT friends") time in trying to fix the problem. 2.

However restoring the files had not helped… So trying install ESET NOD32 and it has detected Symantec is still inside the system (where the other programs didn’t detect this). check this link right here now However, you get the full version, I leave that to you. Was any analysis done to detect this? Two days later, we were offered the workaround by the Cybersitter vendor and I could then reinstall it.

Approximately 5 hours were required for this work. sorry.. You know, download it, put the msi file on a thumb drive, etc… From there you can figure out why IE is not working. weblink I did not realize that my Symantec/Norton anti-virus protection caused this problem until receiving an email several days ago and now this email.
I had to call my IT provider who solved the problem after we received your email on how to fix it and I have just received the bill for $230.00 (australian). Go To HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and do the same thing. So I installed McAfee on it, ran another virus scan and the system behaved perfectly.

Reply | Quote Luke says: February 13, 2007 at 10:31 am Matt - indeed, Norton will not run on older machines. check over here Needless to say I am very unimpressed by Symantec who haven't done anything to bring this to my attention - certainly no apology.
I was able to apply the fix and regain online access. McAfee works fine with CYBERsitter, and my computer is now generally more responsive than it was with NIS, so I'm no longer a Symantec customer. It disabled my internet connection and dinged up my networking settings. It was a full time job trying to keep NIS up and running.
Kyle T. Following any of these instructions is very iffy. Have had this problem for some time and gave up for a long time, as it didn't appear to affect NSW2004 operation, just the error during Liveupdate. When I tried to remove the older client it asks for the removal password - which of course it doesn't recognise.
After problems with the first 8, and having to remove hundreds of registry entries manually on a few of them, I found the answer. If you can install them successfully, more power to you! In the process I lost the norton antivirus year subscription and I lost cybersitter because I had to uninstall it to try to solve some of the problems I was having Ever since that monster Norton scan was installed to my pc without my consent, it was a nightmare, for days on end my pc was frozen, pop ups ads all over,

It’s critical that you follow my instructions to the letter to avoid risk! Click on the little + to open the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT hive. LOL! That was the only thing I could think of at the moment.
About two weeks later, things got worse. I felt like I was being held hostage and informed them of this but agreed non the less as I was concerned the 'virus' could do more damage than it already Wikipedian Regular Contributor5 Reg: 29-Sep-2008 Posts: 357 Solutions: 2 Kudos: 43 Kudos0 Re: LiveUpdate not connecting to Symantec server Posted: 03-Dec-2009 | 4:25AM • Permalink komputer_80s wrote: The Norton Internet Security If you intend on deleting this piece of crap, I recommend you use registry mechanic.
