Solved: Nvidia Geforce 7300gs
This is for an HP dv9700 laptop PC that's over five years old. F 5 January, 2016 Reply Thanks for providing this information Ivan. Sorry, there was a problem flagging this post. However, after upgrading I am stuck with the Basic Display Adapter because I can't install the nvidia driver using the package. his comment is here
My old LG monitor looks better than it ever has, and the Win10 installation went smoothly. The Nvidia tech support said that it'll not work in Win 10. Each type of update might include drivers for NVidia GeForce 7300 GS.On the Select the updates you want to install page, look for updates for your NVidia GeForce 7300 GS, select I had the same issue upgrading to Windows 10.
They were right. Everything went smoothly and now my PC works perfect. I have one PC that has only one partition, and the next one that has three (System Hidden, Windows, System Recovery).
Nvidia driver 259.47 version works with "normal" installation. My computer seems to be currently using the Motherboard card and looks like crap. Loading... The Upgrade inside a Windows 7 installation doesn't work most of the time if you have driver or other unusual software installed issues.
Your NVIDIA model actually has drivers for Windows 10, so you don't need to worry. I had read elsewhere how to do this but as usual the geeks speak another language and are actually not that helpful as they try to show how smart they are. and my Original Resolution wasn't an option which got me so mad that made me want to through it out the window. I have successfully downloaded Windows 10 without any issues. (Though I will warn those that are going to do this that the amount of time to make the upgrade is huge.
Thank you. The screen loads fine until the login, but after that it seems like it just freezes there. It's outdated. My eyes were killing me….Steven.
Mike 11 November, 2015 Reply Worked like a charm.Thank you. I'm sure there is a lot more in that 88 or 116 megs besides the driver. This problem occurs if there are Linux partitions or old Windows partitions on the hard drive. (Assuming a single hard drive) This problem will also occur if there are multiple hard Turned out power supply was probably good.
On the last upgrade, Debian decided to install new packages with "nvidia-legacy-304xx" in their name. this content When I went into Device Manager and attempt to update, it said the system detected that the driver was up to date (version 307.83). You don't need it anymore (that's for Arch, other distros generally don't load nvidia automatically and you do need that minimal config as described in the wiki). For dual-screen, like I said, Before running the tool, the message was the same as you showed.
If anyone finds the same problem, I found that the solution is to install Corel Patch 5, available here: PSPPX3_Patch5.exe. Ivan 8 January, 2016 Reply If you choose Upgrade this PC now in the Media Creation Tool, it shouldn't ask you for a key. So each time I had to shut it down forcibly for several times waiting for a clean and complete start up. weblink I have installed Win 10 and I make it with the 179.48 driver.

I have a GeForce 7950 GT card with an old Asus MB & 2 core CPU & the above process worked well using the series 6 & 7 drivers. I have a bit newer 9600GT and have to use nomodeset to boot until I install the proprietary driver from System Settings.

Ivan 21 September, 2015 Reply Fred, I just added to the post how to change the screen resolution. I wish you a peaceful Christmastime. I ran most of the upgrade at night while I was sleeping, but it still took some daytime hours as well). I've been trying for weeks to upgrade to Windows 10, but could not find a solution to the Nvidia error.
