Solved: Office 2007 Save Problem
After disconnecting the network drives, I still could not get the Save Function to work. Finally, it will check for data on previous crashes that have occurred on your system to find out if any other solutions are available. I can now bypass/avoid the problem by assuring that the document I am working on is NOT viewed in a preview pane at the same time. I was using a wireless router and installed office 2003. I even remove the software and reinstall it.
Now my Word files save at a normal speed again. I saw in Wxcel thatit was trying to contact this address when wanting to access desktop folder to save. What they do offer though, is a converter (in the form of an update/patch) so you can open your docx files in previous versions of Office. I myself using (windows 7 + office 2010) was able to produce this case only once.

It was trying to access non existent net drives during login.
