Installed Office 2007 in PlayOnLinux. If using Spreadsheet/Calc, you can right-click on the cell, choose Format Cells, and the default tab is "Number". I admit that I can be extremely impatient sometimes / get frustrated easily. In any sort, problem solved...by not using OpenOffice!!!
