I could not figure out why del "\\?\C:\Documents and Settings\jsmith\Desktop\CAFUM93N." was not working. I had a folder with space at the end in my steam folder and it drove me nuts. It seems that occasionally certain files just wont delete. You can browse to any folder name on the XP PC, select it, check the box that says "Delete recursively" and away it goes. U R A GOD!!!!!! In my case, it was a space at the end of too-long filenames.(It worked even though I have SP3!)Perhaps these WERE a deliberate trap... Then, you will see a message: " Do you want to create a new file? " click YES. del "filepath" or rd "filepath")Thanks!!
