When I try installing MIE I'm told the machine doesn't meet certain minimum requirements. I can't believe that neither Fresco Logic or Western Digital have got their acts together and actually fixed the problem! The only registry settings accessible seem to be at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\FLxHCIc\Parameters and they aren't named all that helpfully. I do use defender. Possible it is newer than SP2 . Not everybody is on Reddit and not everybody can repair it.

I did a clean install 8 months ago and never reinstalled "Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver" and always had freezing issue for 10-15s, but with the latest update 1min freezing. I am very sad to see everyday how many more people are still affected, and for how many people is it impossible to roll back to the previous build.
The 'safe to remove' icon I mentioned earlier should be down on the task bar and looks like a pcmci card with a green arrow on it. I'm going to go ahead and take the plunge and see if it works out. After findign out that Edge Extensions cannot be installed this is getting too much. Check them and repeat till ALL are installed.
