I updated the related driver, and after restarting my computer sleeping and hibernating modes were back on my power options menu. Post a comment if you have one. It removed other stuff which Glary did not, but the same story. I read on of the posts above and downloaded Glary Utilities, ran it, nothing happened. Hibernation takes about 10 or 15 seconds to complete on my computer, and about 20 to resume, so it's not as snappy as Standby mode.I almost never shut down my computer. I have both running on my system, and there are various tweaks that give you an optimization, one of which is to use a RAM drive for temp files.
While I know that the RAM drive precludes hibernate, I am working now on at least going into standby to keep down power consumption. It's more likely that you picked up an infection. So hardware was not the issue.
