Right now, the only way it will start is in safe mode. When booting windows XP in safe mode the last driver that shows loaded is mup.sys. If these work, run scan disk to isolate bad sectors and then re-install your other hardware. Again I stink at this, and wish I could afford to pay someone else to fix it. check over here
Also, try using a non-USB kybd and aregular ball mouse that plugs into the PS\2 port in place of an optical USB type If all this fails to identify or fix I have a GeForce 9500GT. It gets to the point of the loading bar / splash screen and then just stops, the PC then has to be turned off or reset. There's an option like,"Windows Diagnostic..System restore" .Press enter on it and it should check all your disks and boot into safe mode. In general...anytime someone suggests that you download/install any tool/program...it's wise to use Google and see exactly what that tool is supposed to do and determine if it's appropriate for what you do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R", (you do not want to load Recovery Console).
